Restoration project

After Storm Darwin and the destruction of the roof in 2014, the club lay idle for a number of years.

We are currently undergoing a major renovation of both the club house and the boat house, to include the replacement of the boat house roof as part of the #RaiseTheRoof campaign.

The Boat House Part 2 is the final part of the restoration efforts, once the roof is completed and once again the boathouse is watertight, the plan is to make the boathouse a safe, clean and dry space to securely hold the boats and equipment.

Raising the Roof Part 1

A new dawn after Storm Darwin.

After the storm in 2014 that left the boathouse without a roof, we have started the process of rectifying this. The frame for the new roof was put place in February 2020 and we then set about fundraising for the roof itself.

Raising The Roof Part 2

Construction of the roof started on November 1st 2021. Despite the economic challenges and lack of fundraising opportunities we are delighted to have been able to retain the general design profile of the original roof. There is still a long way to go for the club to get back to where it once was, but this is the first major step on our journey. For now, let us look forward to seeing the completion of our long awaited roof which will enhance our club and our city.

The Boat House Part 1

As you can imagine, the boat house without a roof, has been left to the Irish weather and the ever growing green of Ireland. Members of the club have started the process to gut and clean the boathouse in preparation for the new roof. What an amazing difference.

The Club House

As the club had lain idle for a few years and the clubhouse had been used as a boathouse since 2014, it was time that the clubhouse got a makeover to make the space look shiny and new. We now have a wonderful space to host evening erg sessions, circuits and core workouts and a general gathering place for our members to enjoy after our training sessions.
